Dancing On Ice 2009 (ITV) – Week 3

Once again Jayne Torvill looked stunning, wearing a long black evening dress with silver detail around her waist and chain necklace.

After losing self-confessed ‘Superfan’ Gemma Bissix, this week’s show was anticipated to be full of entertainment but never could we expect what was achieved in the live show!

Once again Jayne Torvill looked stunning, wearing a long black evening dress with silver detail around her waist.  Her chain necklace was particuarly stunning, something were tracking down as this is being typed up!! (Watch this space)   Christopher Dean confirmed he’ll be joining Jayne back on the ice again next week too, now fully recovered from a recent arm injury.

Voted out this week was a visitor favourite Darya Nicci and celebrity partner Jeremy Edwards.  A good sport on the show, Jeremy commented “the best man won tonight” and wished fellow contestant Ellery Hanley, who joined him the bottom two, good luck.

CELEBRITY SKATERS
Ellery Hanley & Frankie Poultney
Skating to 5 Years Times by Noah & The Whale, Ellery and partner Frankie suffered criticism due to various timing issues.  Wearing sky blue costumes during their performance, the couple came away with a respectable 16 out of 30.
Jessica Taylor & Pavel Aubrecht
Up next was singer Jessica and professional skater Pavel, performing to ‘Heaven (Candlelight Mix)’ by DJ Sammy. Scoring a 20.5 (.5 lower than their score last week), some of the judges thought that although this was Jessica’s wedding song, no emotion was trasmitted to the audience.  The couple wore white costumes with silver lined detail.
Donal McIntyre & Florentine Houdiniere
Performing to ‘The Dock of the Bay’ by Otis Reading, the couple dusky blue costumes with Florentine’s designed to flow gracefully as she skated around the ice rink.  Over the routine was good and judges scored it at 15 out of 30.
Coleen Nolan & Stuart Widdall
After the public voted her to stay last week, Coleen came back fighting with tons more confidence that we ever expected!  Skating to Ireland’s Industry, her both her partner.  Wearing a ‘candy colour’ style costume that we keep seeing in the magazines and on the runway, she looked glamurous with gold, pink and orange incorporated.  12.5 disappoiting last week, they upped it to 17 this week.
Jeremy Edwards & Darya Nicci
Performing to the pop classic ‘Faith’ by George Michael, Darya skated onto the ice wearing lime green socks, hot pants and top. The couple scored a total of 16 – some judges with high and others with lower.  They commented that is wasn’t incredibly technical but scored well non-the-less.
Melinda Messenger & Fred Palascak
In the sk ate-off last week, Melinda and her partner Fred skated to Helen Westerna’s version of ‘Both Sides Now’ and scored higher than last week, a respectful 19 out of 30.  The couple wore blue costumes with silver striped patterns.
Ray Quinn & Maria Filippov
Wearing a white dress with silver detail, Maria and celebrity Ray Quinn danced to ‘You Make it Real’ by James Morrison with elegance and skill.  Scoring 5 by each judge, the couple scored 25 out of a possible 30.
Michael Underwood & Melanie Lambert
Dancing to ‘Fascination’  by pop group Alphabeat and scoring a slightly higher than last week, respectable 17 – Michael and partner Melanie wore glittery lilac outfits, carefully stained with red and pink dye.
Zoe Salmon & Matt Evers
Wearing a glamourous red dress, Zoe started the evening in rehearsals still falling and making mistakes with the steps and moves they’d been asked to include in this week’s performance. However, stumbling a little during the live show, she still performed well – scoring 16.5. The couple skated to ‘Rise Again’ by Gabrielle.
Todd Carty & Susie Lipanova
Dancing to The Beatle’s ‘Help’,  Todd’s partner Susie wore a blue top with orange poka dot flowing skirt.  Todd coupled this with a VERY LOUD jacket.  Scoring a very low but comedy worthy 9.5 – owed due to Todd flying out of sight and off the rink.  Although it was choreographed, Todd added his own spirit to the performance and was clearly everyone’s favourite performance on the night.
Roxanne Pallet & Daniel Whiston
Last to enter the rink was Roxanne and her partner Daniel, performing to ‘Genie in a Bottle’ by Christina Aguilera. Roxanne sported a canary yellow dress, with green detail and pink top.  The couple scored a respectable 18, a little higher than last week.
